Marziano Abbona
Dogliani | Piedmont | Italy
The Abbona name, and family, have become synonymous with the medieval village of Dogliani in Piemonte. By extension, the family is also forever linked with the most famous grape of the area - Dolcetto - through their bottling of "Papa Celso." This wine is an homage to Marziano's father and is a benchmark for the variety. Today, Marziano and his wife Bruna, are assisted by their daughters, Chiara and Mara. The estate is a destination for great Piemontese wines and even better people. The range of wines offered by this estate is staggering: from white wines such as Viognier, Arneis, and Favorita, to the classic reds of Dolcetto, Barbera, and Nebbiolo. Each bottling represents the terroir and legacy that Marziano has kept intact for generations past as well as future.
