Fèlsina

Castelnuovo Berardenga | Tuscany | Italy

A benchmark interpreter of the Sangiovese grape through their Chianti Classicos and other wines, Fèlsina is one of the most iconic producers in Italy. It was 1966 when Domenico Poggiali Fèlsina took the courageous leap and bought the estate at a time when Italian viticulture was struggling. He chose to invest in the quality of the wine and the expertise of a young team. In the space of a few years, the vineyards grew to more than forty hectares. In the 1970s, Giuseppe Mazzocolin entered the family business and set a course for the new direction of Fèlsina, which continues today with Giovanni Poggiali at the helm. Massale selection in the vineyards along with significant vine age allows them to produce elegant, complex, and age-worthy wines, from the Chianti Classico “normale” through to the single vineyard “Rancia.” This is an estate firmly planted in tradition and continues their path of excellence nearly unrivaled in Tuscany.
